William C. Marlatt, DVM

  • Originally grew up near Garner, North Carolina
  • Attended North Carolina State University and Montana State University earning a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal Science in 1984. Attended North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine earning the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1988.
  • Practiced in a mixed animal practice in Cornelius, North Carolina from 1988 to 1990. He has practiced at the Belle Fourche Veterinary Clinic from 1990 to date and became a partner in the practice in 1994.
  • In 2014, Dr. Marlatt completed the North American Veterinary Conference’s Institute on Small Animal Ultrasound. Ultrasound has been an interest of Dr. Marlatt’s, and this week long course allowed further improvement of ultrasound skills.
  • Dr. Marlatt’s interests have been broad since graduation. Although he has worked with a variety of species in that period of time, he predominately has worked with small animal and livestock species. Currently, his leading interests are small animal medicine, surgery, wound care, ophthalmology, ultrasonography, and preventative medicine. Significant time is spent with livestock, theriogenology, medicine and surgery. Periodically, he will take some time off from practice and work as a trail veterinarian for various sled dog races.
  • Dr. Marlatt’s hobbies include tending to the small irrigated farm he and his wife, Beth, maintain in the Redwater Valley. Under their care is an assortment of dogs, cats, horses, and two llamas. Other interest include hiking, biking, canoeing, travel, and shooting sports.
